You either watched or, by now, heard that the Chicago Cubs won the 2016 World Series. It’s their first championship in 108 years.
In honor of their victory, I thought I would share my first visit to Wrigley Field. My husband (yes, I got married!) Max and I went to Chicago over Labor Day Weekend 2016.
Without further ado:
Obviously, this is the iconic front entrance. I made us weave our way through heavy human traffic in order to cross the street to get a good photo.
All the green ivy! Can you see it? We were high up.
Jon Lester was the Cubs starter and he was quite awesome. He had a no-hitter going into the 7th, until Hunter Pence hit a solo HR.
I received this “certificate” when the usher found out that it was my first time at Wrigley.
The view of Chicago downtown skyline from the top row in the park.
Go, Cubs, Go! Go, Cubs, Go! It was a win so they played the famous song and everyone sang along. Even me!
And I just love everything about this picture for some reason, so I had to include it. Lester lost the no-hitter and shutout but he went the distance.
The marquee says Chicago wins!
And almost two months later, it reads the same. Congratulations to all members of the team and front office staff. And, of course, congratulations to the city of Chicago. Enjoy the victory!
